In February of 2021, amid her remarkable career of leadership and caring for others, Dr. Young passed away from diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Dr. Young served as a colleague, mentor, teacher, friend, and mother. She is remembered as a caring and loving person with a beautiful smile. She touched many lives, not only through her clinical work with patients, but also with students, colleagues, peers, family and our APSHO Board. We are pleased to honor her memory with this scholarship.

2023 RECIPIENT

Magdalena Correa, FNP-BC, AOCNP, 2023 Kelly Young Scholarship Recipient

"The Kelly Young Memorial Scholarship was for me an unique opportunity to attend the annual JADPRO live conference. In Chile, the Advanced Practice roles are emerging, so we do not have yet access to oncology educational programs that bring the APP perspective. The poster section, which showcased the APPs projects improving patient care was eye opening to me and gave me new ideas to discuss with my local team to hopefully follow your steps. Scholarships like this allow professionals from low or middle income countries to gain access to first class education that normally have prohibitive costs. Much appreciation! "
