Lisa Hwa Christenson, DNP, C-NP, received her doctorate education from the University of Minnesota. She is an Associate Professor at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She has a passion for professional education. She led the development of the first national Hematology-specific Fellowship and previously served as the Program Director of the Mayo Clinic NP/PA Hematology / Oncology Fellowship. She is a frequently invited speaker by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) to present at multiple Nursing Forum and the general annual conferences. She has been invited to present at several international conferences. She has presented multiple research findings at national and international conventions including ASH, International Symposium on Amyloidosis (ISA) and International Myeloma Society (IMS). Through ASH she has been selected twice, among thousands of worldwide scholars, by the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) to film web-based interview to present her research data. She has authored and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles including many first-authorship publications in the top hematology-focused journals including Blood, Leukemia, American Journal of Hematology, European Journal of Hematology and Journal of Oncology Practice. She has several publications on the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO) and has been actively engaged in the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) to serve on the Executive Board of Directors and the Conference Planning Committee. She has served on the NCCN Educational Program Advisory Committee, ASCO Advisory Membership Committee, ASCO eLearning Question Writing Workgroup, International Myeloma Nurse Leadership Board, and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Multiple Myeloma Guideline Expert Panel.
