The Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) has released a powerful new position statement recommending a minimum of 8 hours per week of protected administrative time for full-time clinical outpatient advanced practitioners (APs). This includes nurse practitioners, physician associates, clinical nurse specialists, and pharmacists.
The statement is based on findings from a national task force and highlights the critical role of administrative time in reducing burnout, improving job satisfaction, and supporting high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
