JADPRO Live 2018 Conference for Advanced Practitioners in Oncology Strives to Bring Clarity to the Complexity of Cancer Care

May 25, 2018 – Lawrenceville, NJ – Over 1,400 nurse practitioners, PAs, pharmacists, and additional health-care professionals (collectively referred to as advanced practitioners) will convene at the sixth annual JADPRO Live conference to address the evolving and increasingly complex landscape of cancer care. The meeting will take place from November 1 through 4 at The Diplomat hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

“With the abundance of new drug approvals, advancements in patient care, and practice-changing research, attendees will obtain a new understanding of the accelerated complexity of cancer care, and implications for the collaborative practice approach,” said Paula Anastasia, RN, MN, AOCN®, Conference Chair for JADPRO Live 2018. “Practitioners of all levels, such as those with years of experience, or those who may be moving into another practice setting or specialty, will benefit from attending this conference.”

The number and impact of advanced practitioners (APs) is growing in the US health-care system: in a 2017 Oncology Trend Report, 75% of oncologists surveyed employ APs, up from 70% in the 2016 Report. Advanced practitioners provide exceptional cancer care by diagnosing and educating patients, providing symptom management, and prescribing medication.

The largest educational conference for advanced practitioners, JADPRO Live is an annual event based on the first journal written by and for oncology and hematology advanced practitioners, the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO). Organizers schedule the conference each year in conjunction with the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) annual meeting.

Highlights of the conference include:

  •  Opportunity to earn up to 21 CE/CME credits
  •  55 world-class speakers shedding light on the latest advancements and key challenges in oncology and hematology
  •  A keynote presentation by Charles F. von Gunten, MD, PhD, from OhioHealth Hospice, a pioneer in palliative care
  •  Networking and professional development activities
  •  Interaction with over 50 exhibitors on the latest therapeutic options available for patients with cancer
